Breaking News: Kit Kittredge an American Girl Movie!!

Hey it's Doodle here and I went to go see the Kit Kittredge movie. It is like the best movie ever! My favorite part was where Kit solved the mystery. Then she proved that the hobos were innocent! She was also nice enough to take Grace, the dog in or she would have starved! At Thanksgiving the hobos brought pretty much all of their food and shared it. I think that it was the nicest thing they could ever do and even though they had almost had no food they shared it!

It made me think that more people should be trying to help poor people instead of themselves! I hope that people will actually start to help people that are less fortunate!

My Dollhouse and Dolls!!!!

Hey, Doodle here and I'm here to tell you about my Dollhouse. My dollhouse is very comfortable for my dolls and for any guests. There are lots of things in my dollhouse that are in real homes. For instance there is a kitchen and bedrooms! There is a picture of the house up above this writing. There are 2 sets of bunk beds. One can fit 2 people and the other one is huge!! It can fit 4 people!! Can you believe that?! They also have 2 closets. One has a little dresser on top of it and the other has their hair things and the styling chair! They also have 4 pets. Kit's pet is Grace, Samantha's pet is Jip, Julie's pet is Nutmeg, and this isn't her real historical pet but Josefina's pet is Katie. They also have a really nice chandelier in their house!

OH and did I mention that they are Hannah Montana fans. They are also looking forward to see their sister Kit's movie even though she doesn't actually get to play herself in the movie. Well I guess I better take off with this written!

AG on a dime

Long time, no see! We have been very busy in the last couple of months and have not gotten the chance to blog. Also we were having camera issues and couldn't post any pics. BUT we are back! Hallelujah!

I thought in honor of our return to the blogosphere I would share a bit of what we have been up to. We have been trying to be more creative since AG insists on continually raising prices. I see AG as a starting point for sparking our creativity. Not everything we have needs to be an AG exclusive. We have found lots of great sellers on Ebay and Etsy who sell uniquely handcrafted items. I will share more about that in a later post.

But for now I wanted to share about some of the great and inexpensive items we have found that work great for AG play. So here it goes...
AG sized mailbox found at a GS for 25 cents. We plan to spray paint it and figure out a base to put it on so that it looks like an actual mailbox.

Mini radio that actually works...found at a Dollar General store for $2.88

Mini cranium games available now in Wendy's kids meals

We found this little hippo at IKEA for 49 cents!

I found these lockers at Ross for $3.99 each. They aren't exactly the right size but I thought they were great for storing all the little stuff.

I think that is enough for right now. We have loads more to share. I will be back soon to post about our new mega doll bunk beds!

EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about it!!

Kit here.
You may have already heard the breaking news...another friend has joined our family. Julie arrived at approximately 8:13 am on December 25th amidst much fanfare. The momentous occasion was celebrated by Doodle, Mom, Brother, Josefina, and myself and is documented below.

Julie herself will be posting soon to officially introduce herself...stay tuned for more late breaking news here at An American Girl's Tale.

Doll Hair IS Spectacular!!

Hey, it's mom here.

We were back at the b&b yesterday for Doodle to go to the doll hair salon spectacular. I didn't get to participate. The room was so small, they asked moms and dads to either wait outside or come back at the end of class. Because my friend and I had 3 other kids to corral, we went over to the Galleria to walk around for the hour.

Doodle said the class was a lot of fun. It doesn't take much to please her though. I didn't take but 2 or 3 pictures since we couldn't stay. The little goody bag was cute. Just a mini ag bag filled with assorted ponytail holders, clips, and a pamphlet showing how to do Julie's half braids. The picture below shows just a few of the things, since Doodle has already gone to town on Julie's hair. The below style of Julie's is Doodle's personal favorite.

You may have noticed Julie's warbrode change. She had an unfortunate accident on the way to my happy place (IKEA), but I will leave that for her to tell. After all, she has not even had a chance to introduce herself to the wonderful blogosphere.

Hope all of your Christmases were as wonderful as ours!
